This is the second part of an educational series for Realtors geared around shedding light on the vague and often misunderstood topic of wastewater disposal. During our discussion we will gain an overview of basic septic system function and common wastewater systems found in Vermont. We will also work to understand bio matte and progressive failure that leads to the demise of traditional septic systems. Once we have an understanding of the most popular wastewater systems in Vermont we will discuss the transition of the wastewater industry from disposal to treatment and dispersal. We will also discuss septic system care and maintenance, tips for system longevity and what is next on the horizon in the permitting world.
