Designation 2050 Final Report
The Vermont Associaiton of Realtors® was one of many stakeholders January 20, 2024 – The Designation 2050 report is the result of a six month study and estensive research, including dozens of conversations, hundreds of stakeholders, and thousands of data points. This report and recommendations highlight key findings on what is working, what is needed, and what can strengthen Vermont’s designation programs for the future.

The report’s recommendations were well received by both the House and Senate. The bill implementing many recommendations is H.683 – An act relating to modernizing the State Designated Areas Program. The Vermont Department of Housing and Community Development is working with its partners to improve the language in this bill, and your feedback on it is welcome. We are also working on a companion report that explores climate resilience action and strategies. It will be released at the end of the month.
