NO LONGER JUST AN 'R'
DIVERSITY, EQUALITY & INCLUSION
Join VAR for a free – member value benefit program on fair housing issues and how the NAR Code of Ethics has been expanded to address diversity, equality and inclusion in our profession. We are bringing two top industry professionals to Vermont Realtors® to talk about these important topics.
First, Matt Difanis will explain NAR’s changes to Article 10-5 of the Code of Ethics prohibits REALTORS® from using harassing speech, hate speech, epithets or slurs based on the protected classes of Article 10. There have been many discussions nationally about these changes. This is your opportunity to gain a better understanding and ask questions about this pivotal change to Realtor® professional standards.
Following that discussion, Leigh Brown will continue the conversation with fair housing issues. Reports of Fair Housing testers and misbehaviors among some Realtors® have caused concerns about the reputation of this profession and how we, as professional Realtors®, can do more in messaging with our sphere marketing to combat the negativity – do a better job – and tell the whole story of what a Realtor® actually does.
You’ll leave with a list (that you can supplement!) of what a Realtor® actually does – and how to tell that story in your marketing. You’ll learn how Fair Housing *should* impact your business and your community for the better. You’ll learn how your passionate community involvement can be the key to future sales without ever buying another lead.
