Alison Cummings – VAR Realtor® of the Year
The Vermont Association of Realtors® (VAR) has selected Alison Cummings as its 2018 Realtor® of the Year (ROTY). VAR’s ROTY award honors Realtors® who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership as real estate professionals and as members of their community.
Alison is a Managing Broker at TPW Real Estate in Stratton. She is a member of the South Central Vermont Board of Realtors® (SCVBR).
In 2017, Alison was elected to serve as Vice-President of the Vermont Association of Realtors®. She currently serves as the association’s President and has been actively involved in VAR’s Futures Task Force and the VAR Government Affairs Committee. She also serves on the board of directors for the New England Real Estate Network (NEREN).
Alison has been actively involved in leadership at the local level, serving as the SCVBR Treasurer in 2007. In 2015, she was elected to SCVBR’s board as its Vice-President, and then served as the board’s President in 2016. In 2018, Alison was named SCVBR’s Realtor® of the Year.
Her peers have defined her as honest, genuine, committed and a professional who demonstrates the highest level of integrity.
Alison is a Certified Ski Instructor for the Professional Ski Instructors Association with credentials as a ski examiner and advanced children’s educator. She volunteers for Neighborhood Connections, a community-based organization that provides a range of social services and health-related programs for individuals and families in south-central Vermont. She is actively involved with Habitat for Humanity. She also serves as a Lister in the Town of Windham and is the town’s Zoning Administrator.
Alison spends her free time skiing, or at home in Windham, VT, where she and her husband Chris are renovating her 1700s farmhouse.[divider style=”normal” top=”20″ bottom=”20″]
Susan Martin – VAR Good Neighbor
Susan Martin has been named the 2018 VAR Good Neighbor! Susan is the Broker/Owner of Susan Martin & Company Realtors® in Morrisville, and is an active member of the Lamoille Area Board of Realtors® (LABOR).
Susan has served in numerous leadership roles for non-profits in her community. As a volunteer for the Council on Aging, Susan has made a positive difference in the lives of aging persons in Lamoille County. She volunteers for Out & About, an organization that strives to make a positive difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities, and for the Wolcott Children’s Ballet.
“Susan unselfishly gives of her time, talent and skills to these organizations to make her community a better place to live and work,” said Sara Waskuch, Association Executive for LABOR. “She feels it is important to give back.”
Susan is also a Guardian ad Litem for the Lamoille County Probate Court. In this role, Susan advocates for children involved in court cases as a result of child abuse or neglect.
Susan’s volunteer commitments also include the Lamoille County Food Share and the Hyde Park Elementary Mentoring Program. She works closely with LABOR on the board’s Adopt a Senior Program, as well as its food drives and community fundraisers.
